WHAT IS MEDITATION?
To meditate is to focus thoughts on, reflect on, to ponder over, to plan or project in the mind ~ intend, purpose.
The term meditation is used in relation to controlling and disciplining the mind. As an alternative therapy it is a mind-body process that can produce physical benefit from mental concentration. There is scientifically-accepted evidence that the mind in meditation can effect physiologic changes in the human body. Mental control is the basis of effective meditation. Concentration is essential in meditation. This concentration of focus overcomes the mind's usual habit of flitting from one subject to another.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Even without fully understanding the power of meditation, it is not difficult to accept the idea that the mind can affect the body. Consider what happens in a state of high excitement or fear. The pulse races, muscles tense. Meditation can influence physiologic behaviour as well, although typically producing a calming, peaceful reaction.

WILL IT HELP?
Meditation is a complementary way to manage stress or distress. Meditation can help people relax which, in turn, can reduce stress and even relieve pain. Meditation eliminates thoughts of the past and the future. It promotes a stronger sense of personal control over one's journey and life. It is widely believed that stress is harmful to the body. Successful meditation results in clearing the mind of all distractions, including those that create stress, discomfort, worry, pain, and fear. Some people report rich sensory experiences and personal spiritual growth from meditation.

WHAT IS GUIDED MEDITATION AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Meditation with a guide - a professional guide leading an individual or group. A guide can teach you the basics of meditation, help you stay focused and meditate more deeply. Some guides can intuitively help you find the source of an issue and the resolution to a challenge. A guided group meditation usually has a particular goal such as spiritual growth, relaxation, or enhancing physical healing. A guided group meditation is usually less expensive than a private session.

WHO DOES THE HEALING?
Although guided meditation may be used for healing, the guide does not heal you. Victoria’s soft voice, relaxing music, along with the power of the Crystal Bowls, will be your guide to inner peace. This combination will restore the flow of energy and your natural health.

A Sitting Meditation

MEDITATION
To Be Away From the Noise,
The Stress, the Bustle,
Where Not Even A Leaf
Dares To Rustle.
Like A Tranquil Reef,
In A Stormy Sea.
All Thoughts That Come,
Disturbs Not Those
That Have Become As One.
With Ebbing Breath
And thoughts Of None,
The Path to Serenity
Will Be Won By Those
Who Have Become
As The Tranquil Reef,
Unto
Eternity.
